How do I reuse my Snappy Heat?
You must boil it back to a liquid state. Please view our Reactivation Instructions page >>>
I boiled my Snappy Heat but it returned to a crystal form immediately after boiling. What's wrong?
You're not boiling the unit long enough, or at a high enough temperature. The water should be boiling and visually inspected every few minute to make sure all the crystals have liquefied. Even if the smallest remains of crystals are allowed to stay, this will cause the activation process to occur.

How many times can I reuse my Snappy Heat pack?
WIth proper care, you can reuse your Snappy Heat pack for 100's or even 1000's of times.
Can I freeze my Snappy Heat?
Our product was not designed to freeze, so we don't suggest you freeze it. Additionally, the ingredients don't react like other "freezer" type cold packs that stay in gel or liquid form. The Snappy Heat will freeze solid and potentially burst the outer seems (not covered by warranty).
Will over-boiling it ruin the Snappy Heat?
Possibly. Don't over boil and don't let the red material touch any part of the pot that is not protected with water, as it may melt. You may find that over exposure to boiling water will cause the "product dimples" (small circular press points) to peel apart, creating a larger area for the liquid to pool in. This doesn't affect the use or effectiveness of the product. Excessive boiling may "split" the seams and cause the Snappy Heat to leak, which is not covered by our warranty. If it leaks, throw it away.
How much water do I need to boil it?
Enough that when the Snappy Heat is placed into the water, there is enough to cover the entire product. We suggest using a large boiling pot. Never let the water boil away so the water level is lower than the heating pad.
Can I boil the straps on my 6x9 Snappy Heat pad?
Yes. Make sure your pot is extra clean, as leftover food particles may stain the white straps.
Are the contents safe?
Yes. We use only food-grade ingredients that are completely safe and non-toxic. The contents are a simple mixture of solution of pure sodium acetate (CH3COONa) in water (a boiled down mixture of vinegar and baking soda - aka: "hot ice").
Can I get burned?
Always test on a small portion of skin first, to determine your sensitivity to the heat. If you have sensitive skin, we do NOT recommend direct contact with your skin. Put the Snappy Heat pad in a thin towel, or wear a shirt while using it. If the contents leak out onto your skin, you may get burned if the temperature is above 120 degrees, so avoid squeezing the heating pack too hard.
